About the Editions
The copyrighted editions were produced from the original oil paintings created by artist Barbara Greving. The editions were released in June 2009, and each item has been personally inspected, signed and numbered (when appropriate) by the artist. Each edition was produced using a museum quality scan by a Cruse CS 220ST Digital Scanner, which is considered the highest quality fine art scanner in the world. Only the finest pigment-based (rather than dye-based) archival inks and tested substrates available were used in the production of these editions in order to fully meet Archival Standards. These fade-resistant inks and substrates were designed to produce a collectible print that, if properly cared for, will last for many, many years.
The Giclée Canvas Editions were produced one canvas at a time with meticulous attention to detail and quality. In addition, 100 percent cotton-fiber canvas was used and after printing, each giclée was given a special coating to protect it from moisture and damaging ultraviolet light. Giclée printing is one of the finest reproduction methods available in the fine art market today.
The Digiprint Editions were produced on paper that is 100 percent acid-free and pH neutral and the image was applied to the paper one print at a time using the same digital printing process as for the Giclée Canvas Editions. Although not considered a true Giclée, these prints were processed in the same meticulous manner and with the same pigment-based inks used in the Giclée Canvas Editions.
Each giclée edition and archival digiprint edition comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which bears the artist's personal signature (Barbara Greving). A canvas giclée edition is from a limited edition of 200 and each canvas is personally signed and numbered. An archival paper digiprint is from a personally signed open edition of prints.
